A vocal kitten encountered a solitary tabby and the two immediately formed a lifelong bond.
A little orange tabby named Moxie, along with his tiny sister, was discovered in a garage by a kind homeowner. Despite waiting for their mom, she never returned, leaving the kittens all alone. The homeowner contacted Sarah Kelly, the wonderful founder of Murphy’s Law Animal Rescue in North Carolina, seeking assistance for the vulnerable kittens. Sarah described the siblings as premature, with the sister, Clove, only half the size of her brother, Patrick. Recognizing the challenging journey ahead, Sarah wasted no time in providing them with constant care—ensuring they stayed warm, hydrated, and fed through tube-feeding around the clock.
Patrick, the sunny orange tabby, was rescued by Murphy’s Law Animal Rescue. Although they couldn’t save both of them, Clove unfortunately didn’t make it. However, Patrick showed remarkable resilience and soon began eating with gusto. To ensure he didn’t feel lonely, Sarah dedicated plenty of time to him, giving him loads of love and attention. Gradually, Patrick started to open his eyes and tentatively explored his surroundings in his nest.

He was curious and craved constant companionship. Sarah started looking for another kitten around his age, knowing that having a feline friend is beneficial for single kittens like Patrick for their growth.
During the same period, Sarah was informed about a small kitten that had been left behind and required a lot of tender loving care.
After being left in a paper bag outside a local emergency vet, a 4-week-old tortie kitten named Moxie was found dehydrated, hypothermic, and severely underweight, weighing only 245 grams. Despite being one week older, she weighed less than Patrick. Sarah from Murphy’s Law Animal Rescue shared Moxie’s story with Love Meow, describing her as a bundle of fluff, skin, bones, and attitude. But with determination and care, Moxie bounced back on her paws and began to thrive.
Moxie was discovered in a paper bag outside an emergency veterinary clinic before being taken in by Murphy’s Law Animal Rescue. She spent the day recuperating in an incubator, where she quickly regained her strength and was soon meowing loudly for attention. Patrick and Moxie’s adorable antics can be seen in a heartwarming video on their YouTube channel.
Describing Moxie as a determined and courageous little kitten, Sarah from Love Meow shared that she has always been vocal about her needs and desires. Moxie’s arrival at the rescue came shortly after Patrick’s sister passed away, and her resemblance to the lost sibling felt like a special gift to everyone involved.
After receiving the care she needed, she bounced back from her illness and revealed a spirited demeanor at Murphy’s Law Animal Rescue. When Moxie and Patrick were deemed healthy enough to interact, Moxie immediately took Patrick under her care. They quickly became inseparable, behaving like long-lost siblings as they roamed around the playpen together.
Moxie and Patrick hit it off right away and formed a strong friendship at Murphy’s Law Animal Rescue. According to Sarah from Love Meow, their connection seemed to fill a void in Patrick’s heart, and they have been supporting each other’s growth and happiness ever since they met. Moxie brought joy not only to the people around her but also to Patrick, who has been absolutely smitten with her.
Patrick is absolutely in love his new forever sister at Murphy’s Law Animal Rescue. These inseparable pals have thoroughly investigated every corner of their cozy kitty room and have even made friends with other foster kittens in the household. According to the staff, Moxie is a fierce and independent little lady who likes to be in charge, while Patrick is a lovable goofball who always brings a playful energy to their dynamic duo. Together, they have a blast and make for an incredibly adorable pair.
They formed friendships with the other foster kittens at Murphy’s Law Animal Rescue. Patrick is fascinated by Moxie and loves to follow her around. It seems like they were destined to be companions, as they share a special bond like kindred spirits.
